Google Forms for your wedding RSVP: when it's enough.
Google Forms is free and fine for a quick headcount. For a wedding it runs out quickly: every guest gets the same link, it can't tell you who hasn't replied, and nothing carries over to seating or the door. avenly.io gives each family its own RSVP link instead, counts replies and meals against your guest list, and checks guests in on the day. It's free for up to 30 guests.

Using Google Forms? Do these four things.
If a form is all you need, these make it work much better for a wedding.
One reply per family
Ask for every name in the party in one response, so a household doesn't reply three times.
A meal question per guest
Use a multiple-choice question for each person's meal, so the Responses tab totals them for you.
Keep a list to compare
Link the form to a Google Sheet and tick off replies against your guest list by hand.
Close it on time
Turn off "Accepting responses" on your RSVP date so late replies don't slip in unseen.

Can I use Google Forms for a wedding RSVP?
Yes, and for a small, casual wedding it's often enough. It's free and everyone knows it. It gets harder with a bigger list: everyone shares one link, you track who hasn't replied by hand, and meal counts, seating and check-in all live somewhere else.
How do I stop duplicate responses in Google Forms?
Turn on "Limit to 1 response". That makes every guest sign in with a Google account first, which many older relatives won't have or won't want to do. Asking for all the names in a party in one response helps too.
How do I see who hasn't replied with Google Forms?
Google Forms only knows who did reply. Link it to a Google Sheet and compare it with your guest list by hand. With avenly.io, each family has its own link, so the guest list shows who's waiting and who has opened their invite.
Is there a free alternative to Google Forms for wedding RSVPs?
Yes. avenly.io is free for up to 30 guests: each family gets its own link, replies and meals are counted against your guest list, and the same link checks them in on the day. Joy is also free, with a registry, but guests find their name on one shared site.
Can I move my guest list from Google Sheets?
Yes. Copy the names from the sheet and paste them in, or download it as CSV or Excel and upload it. avenly.io sorts the names into households, and you check them before anything is saved.
